AWS & Ruby

Wed, 25 Sep 2013 19:00 - 23:00 JST

VOYAGE GROUP

東京都渋谷区神泉町8-16 渋谷ファーストプレイス8F

Description

Kenta Yasukawa, Solution Architect at Amazon Web Services (AWS) and self-proclaimed Ruby fan, will give an overview of the latest AWS offerings from a Ruby developers perspective.

Since its inception in 2006, Amazon Web Services has grown at an incredible rate, and during the presentation Kenta will give both an introduction to newcomers and a service update to those already familiar with AWS. The presentation will also contain Ruby specific demos and explanations of the latest Ruby based DevOps solutions.

A word from the speaker:

You like writing Ruby code. You do not want to spend time for managing infrastructure. Right, I’m totally with you. AWS frees you from the concerns of the infrastructure and lets you focus on writing more code! In the talk, I will introduce AWS ways to prepare a scalable infrastructure for Ruby on Rails. Using the techniques in my talk, you can simply configure how much you want to scale and just deploy your code right away. Need to turn up the scalability to 11? Fine, I will also introduce DynamoDB and how it can be integrated in your Ruby apps directly through our Ruby SDK.
- Yasukawa Kenta, AWS Solution Architect

For those that have specific questions, both Kenta Yasukawa and Rasmus Ekman of AWS will be available after the talk for networking and Q&A (both English and Japanese OK!).

Drinks and a light meal will be provided.
